Finding the Problem is the First Step in Solving It

Asheville, N.C. (PRWEB) November 04, 2013

For those affected by depression (approximately ten percent of Americans), the light at the end of the tunnel is sometimes overwhelmingly dim. Author Patricia Adrian Jordan hopes to help brighten that light with her first book, “My Journey in Overcoming Chronic Dysthymic Depression.”

Jordan, who suffered from undiagnosed chronic depression for decades, writes about the therapy that changed her life.

“I want to take the stigma out of people receiving mental health counseling,” Jordan said.

The book explores Jordan’s personal experiences as she suffered from depression, was diagnosed and finally overcame the illness that darkened much of her life. Although counseling professionals will find insight in the book, it is not technical.

“My book is not a technical manual written for the professional,” Jordan said. “It is a book about depression written by a person who has experienced living it.”
